Abstract Submission for Healthier Longer Lives

The Healthier Longer Lives for People with Serious Mental Illness international conference will:

  • Focus specifically on serious mental illness;

  • Present new scientific advances;

  • Showcase effective global interventions;

  • Engage partners from cross-sector fields; and

  • Inspire investment and catalyze action.

 

The conference will include panels on:

  • Principles of effective care

  • Cities as a locus of action and transformation

  • Communities and community-based programs

  • Catalyzing investment and public-private partnerships

  • Economic challenges and opportunities

  • Research agenda

 

We are therefore looking for a wide variety of voices, including individuals who represent researchers, practitioners, and people with lived experience.

Abstract Submission

  • All abstracts submitted online will be reviewed by the Conference Advisory Committee.

  • Abstracts should be submitted via the on-line submission system only; abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be reviewed.

  • Abstracts will be accepted on a rolling basis. The first round of decisions will be announced by October 1st, 2018.

  • All abstracts must be submitted and presented in clear English with accurate grammar and spelling of a quality suitable for publication.

  • To correct an abstract that has already been submitted or to submit another abstract, please email us at info@healthierlongerlives.org with an explanation first.

  • The presenting author is required to ensure that all co-authors are aware of the content of the abstract.

  • After your abstract  is submitted you will be sent an automatic e-mail confirming your successful submission. If you do not receive this confirmation e-mail, please contact info@healthierlongerlives.org

Submission Guidelines
 

Presentation type:
– Oral
– Poster

Abstract body:
The Abstract body should be no longer than 400 words in total.

 

Abstract structure:

Abstracts for scientific research must contain the following sections:

  • Presenter (for the oral and poster presentation)

  • Objective – describes the research objective

  • Method – summarizes the research methods used to accomplish the research

  • Findings – summarizes findings that are supported by the data

  • Impact - states the conclusions drawn from results, including the potential for the research findings to improve practice

  • Geographic location

 

Abstracts for non-governmental organizations/civil society/ other must contain the following sections:

  • Presenter (for the oral and poster presentation)

  • Objective – describes the research objective

  • Impact - states the conclusions drawn from results, including the potential for the research findings to improve practice

  • Geographic location

Review Criteria:

Scientific research:

Symposia, paper and posters will be ranked according to their significance to the field of serious mental illness, approach, innovation, findings or impact, geographic location, and relevance to excess mortality and co-morbidities in people living with serious mental illness.

 

Non-governmental organization, civil society, or other:

Symposia, paper and posters will be ranked according to their significance to the field of serious mental illness, innovation, geographic location, and relevance to excess mortality and co-morbidities in people living with serious mental illness.

 

Important:

  • There are a limited number of positions for oral presentations, which will be filled on a rolling basis. Apply early for best consideration. 

  • Anyone requiring a visa should apply ASAP.

  • Only accepted abstracts of fully registered and paid presenters will be included in the final scientific program. The presenting author is expected to attend the Conference and present his/her oral or poster presentation.

  • Presenters are requested to settle their registration payment by September 30, 2018.
